Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is employed by ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. The ability which helped her obtain her first role as an Univision producer assistant Miami. She collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She moved in 2009 to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. She was also often asked to be a sports and weather anchor. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on additional duties. She also did segments on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Aside from this, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. The show was made a sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in the same capacity for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are originally of Veracruz Mexico. The family were moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta was the senior of her high school and was very aware of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. It was a beautiful campus and provided the education she wanted. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University as a major of media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. He encouraged her to have confidence and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply influenced her. She was determined to fulfill the expectations of him and not failed him.
